Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?

HBO recently released a documentary film "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery", where director Cullen Hoback purports to unmask the identity of the creator of bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. According to the film, it could be the Canadian developer Peter Todd, who, according to the data provided, was active on the Bitcoin forum back in 2010 and could be connected to Nakamoto. This discovery is based on a number of forum posts, where Todd allegedly continued Nakamoto's train of thought in discussing a complex technical problem, giving rise to the theory that he could be involved in the creation of bitcoin.

Although Todd categorically denies his involvement, Hobak points out a number of interesting coincidences. One of them – the use of British spelling, which is characteristic of the Canadian Todd, and rare posts on the forum, which often coincided with summer vacations – suggests an academic schedule. Hobak also draws attention to Nakamoto's programming style, which was quite "amateur", which, in his opinion, corresponds to Todd's level at the time when he was still a student.  Such details allow the director to connect Todd with Satoshi's identity, although Todd himself claims that these assumptions could be not only wrong, but also dangerous.

The documentary sparked a lively debate in the crypto community, but no conclusive evidence linking Todd to Nakamoto was presented. As in previous investigations, the question remains open, but points towards a new round of interest in one of the most enduring mysteries of the cryptocurrency world.
