1. Safe storage of keys and passwords
- Never store secret keys and passwords digitally (on a computer, phone or in the cloud)
- Write the seed-phrase (secret words) only on paper, make several copies.
- Keep copies in different safe places
- Do not share your private keys and seed phrases with anyone, even if the person introduces themselves as a support service
2. Correct work with wallets
- Use cold (hardware) wallets for storing large sums
- On hot (online) wallets, keep only the minimum required for current operations
- Always check the recipient's address several times before sending
- When transferring to a new address, first send a test minimum amount. It’s better to additionally lose the transaction fee than all the coins.
3. Device protection
- If possible, use a separate device for cryptocurrency transactions
- Be sure to install antivirus and firewall
- Regularly update the system and all programs
- Don't install questionable software
4. Safety when working with exchanges
- Choose only reliable exchanges with a proven track record
- Use complex and unique passwords
- Be sure to enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
- Do not store more than you are ready to lose on the exchange
- Regularly withdraw cryptocurrency to cold storage
What categorically cannot be done
- Do not share your private keys and passwords with anyone
- Do not store keys electronically
- Don't click on suspicious links
- Do not install unverified extensions and applications
- Do not use public WiFi for crypto operations
- Don't enter keys on sites that came from the link
- Don't participate in dubious cryptocurrency "giveaways".
- Don't trust strangers who promise to help restore access
When making transactions
- Always check the recipient's address
- Check the transaction fee
- Make sure you have sufficient funds including the fee
- Wait for the online transaction to be confirmed
- Save transaction IDs in your records
